Remembering my dearest Taunton friend. Sheila (Fischman) Appel

I just heard from a mutual friend that Gerry passed away last August. She was my best friend all through high school in Taunton. I saw her last in Buzzards Bay just before Covid. I think of her fondly. Sheila Fischman Appel

I have only just received the news of Gerrie´s passing. Gerrie was a very special lady, loved by all of us Loys here in England. We visited her and Steve on several occasions and the visits were always memorable. The first time I visited them in Cape Cod my wife and our two children, my late mother and my father were with me. My mother had done very little travelling outside the UK and had never been outside Europe. She was very nervous about the trip and had never met Gerrie or Steve,...

We have such wonderful memories of Geraldine all through our time at Medical School and beyond. Her joyful spirit, her humor, her determination that I should learn bridge, Stephen´s fish tank..and so much more! Then our visits on Cape Cod (which felt like no time had passed) and of course our visit in San Francisco when we learned of all the activities there.
