Lemont, Illinois
Oct 2, 1941 – Mar 29, 2023
Geraldine Catherine Siblik, age 81, of Lemont, Illinois, passed away suddenly in her home on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. She was born on October 2nd, 1941, at St Bernard's Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Catherine Patricia (Boughton) Rockwood and the late George Edward Rockwood.
A graduate of St. Francis Academy, Joliet in 1959, Geri was faithful and funny, she could play hard to get. Still, Geri married Ed on May 30, 1964, and together, they raised and loved three children.
Geri was an artist. She studied at Ray Vogue Academy of Art for a time at her own expense. Her ambitions suffered from lack of support, she opted for practicality instead opted for beauty school. Geri did hair for family, friends, and clients for over 60 years with present appointments which sadly she could not keep. Geri had many talents: art, fashion, music(trombone), basketball, softball(coach), tennis, bowling and golf. Geri was an excellent cook, loved baking and throwing parties and lending a hand with large family events in celebration of life achievements large and small. She attended all her grandchildren's events. Her recall of the details of all the many people Geri engaged with joy and love, the stories she told, the acts of kindness and duties she performed are a profound loss for us all. All circles of her family and friends recognized her light. Geri was truly a force choosing to share her joy, talent, and amazing soul with her family and friends. We remember her, as she died, at her post, in the kitchen, by the phone.
Survived by her loving children, John (Michel) Siblik, Lisa Atkinson, Noreen (Brian) Kordzinski; five grandchildren, Piper and Maret (Siblik), Joshua, Nathaniel, Zachary (Kordzinski); sisters Barbara(Zykan), Patricia(Dominick), Karen(Stoltman), brother Thomas and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her loving husband Edward L. Siblik, of 55 years, her mother, father, brothers George and Michael, and son Keith.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023, from 3 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C., 108 Illinois Street, Lemont, IL 60439.
Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 5th, 2023, 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Patrick's Church, 200 E. Illinois St., Lemont, IL, 60439 for Mass at 10 a.m.
Interment, Clarendon Hills Cemetery, 6900 S. Cass Ave. Darien, IL 60561
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Such a loss to all of us. I have so many memories visiting as a young child at the lumber yard with her and her siblings. There was the first location and then the second location. My dad and her dad would often go rabbit hunting for the day. While they were gone we would visit for the day with Geri and her siblings. Sometimes Barb would play the piano and often there would be home made popcorn to enjoy. Time spent on the swing set and playing outside games. As an adult I enjoyed our...

Geri was a person who lived her life generously and large heartedly. Whenever I saw her she always had a smile on her face; it was a joy to talk with Geri on any occasion. I know she will be terribly missed. A mother, sister and friend such as she cannot ever be replaced. With love and sincere sympathy for your loss.
