i was so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Sims. I had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Sims at Maple Avenue School. She was a wonderful principal, a true educator. She cared about every child and also, every teacher. We were held to high standards by this role model and we loved her for it.

Mrs. Simms will be missed She had a gentle and gracious spirit. She was the principal for all 6 of my children at Maple and the Annex. As a parent I am indebted to her for assuring that inner city children got the education they deserved They are all grandparents now and are part of her legacy of dedication.
