Slosson, Geraldine "Deannie" Massey

Age 97, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, at Pacific Care Center. Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Robert Cyril Slosson, she leaves a daughter, Joy Denise Atkins-Miller (Vernon R. Miller) of Union; a son, Robert Evan Slosson (Andrea Wales) of St. Louis; four grandchildren Talia Slosson (Joshua Harvey) of Lithia, Florida; Olivia Slosson (Dakota Henry) of Perth, Ontario, Canada; Marina Slosson and Garrett Slosson, both of St. Louis; two great-grandchildren Marlowe Harvey and Landis Harvey. She also leaves a niece Alesia Warren Smallwood (Bill); a grandniece, Rachelle Gerstel (David); three grandnephews, Jason Marquardt (Valerie), Timothy Fowler and Justin Fowler (Abby); four great-grandnephews Logan Gerstel, Travis Gerstel, Dylan Marquardt and Lucas Fowler (Tim's son); and a great-grandniece, Karlie Fowler (Tim's daughter). Throughout her life, she was an active member of Kearney Christian Church, Florissant Valley and Hamilton Christian Church, all Disciples of Christ. She attended Central Missouri State College (now University of Central Missouri) in Warrensburg (BS in home economics and education as well as a teaching certificate, 1951). She taught at Pierce City High School, Maysville High School and Northgate Junior High School in North Kansas City. Later, she was a substitute teacher at Cross Keys Middle School in Florissant and finished her working years transporting the disabled for Care Cab Transportation. Services: Visitation at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held there in spring; departing for Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery afterward.
