Geraldine Vermillion Obituary
NEWARK: Funeral services for Geraldine "Jerri" Vermillion will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st Street, Newark. Interment will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and acquaintances 1-3 and 5-7 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Vermillion, age 88, passed away at her home on January 29, 2016. She was born November 4, 1928 in Newark, Ohio to parents Harold and Elsie (Gorley) Whitehead. Jerri was a 1947 graduate of Newark H.S. She was a homemaker. Jerri was a person who helped everyone and loved her family dearly. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and loved working jigsaw puzzles and playing cards.
Jerri is survived by her four children Rick Vermillion of Findlay, OH, Dee (Fred) Munkachy of Newark, Rod Vermillion Sr. of Broken Arrow, OK and Doug Vermillion of Hollywood, FL.; grandchildren Rod Vermilllion Jr., Randi Sondac, Darci (Tom) Prunte and Cody (Amanda) Newton; great grandchildren Shawnna Vermillion, Paige Vermillion, John Vermillion, Reagan Vermillion, Jack Vermillion, Asher Kvammen and Liana Prunte; sister Freda McCullough of Newark.
In addition to her parents, husband John O. Vermillion and grandson Shane Vermillion preceded Jerri in death.
The family suggests memorial gifts be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, PO Box 430, Newark, OH 43058-0430.

Sorry to hear about the passing of cousin Jerri. She was one of the sweetest ladies I've ever known and she will be missed by many. Thanks for all the wonderful memories over the last 63 years Jerri. Keeping Jerri's family in my thoughts and prayers. Until we meet again, RIP dear Jerri

Dear Jerri,
I only had the pleasure of knowing you for 5 months when I started caregiving for you, we bonded so quickly had many a laughs and talked baseball (Cincinnati Reds) would stay and watch some of the game with you in the evenings when I came to get you dressed for bed back in August and September, sometimes someone just makes you feel loved and you certainly did that, I will miss you very much, you actually was like me having my own Mother back again, Love you Jerri, but you knew that, your children were surely loved by a wonderful Mother, and I will always hear you say as I was leaving, LOVE YOU, see you tomorrow.
