Not sure what to say?

I'M GLAD TO SEE THIS MEMORY COME BACK UP AFTER A YEAR! I'd love to know how Gerard's siblings are! I can be contacted at: [email protected]
Are Mr. and Mrs Powers (Bill and Mary) still with us?
Irene Mais (Wellfleet Road)

Dear Kathy, Mallory, and Cassidy, I was shocked and saddened to hear about your loss. There are no words that can express the fun we had as teammates and friends through the years. I know you have many more memories that will keep him with you for many more years to come. My thoughts are with you in this difficult time.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Theresa was right! There was no age difference with all the kids on Wellfleet road! My prayers are with the family members.

Gerard truly had a warm, open heart. I worked with Gerard from time to time over the last several years where I learned about his gift for interacting with people. I am very sorry to hear of the loss in the Powers family; however, I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to know Gerard.

I was at the Mass this morning, and the Hail Mary now has new meaning for me! Thank you Maureen for sharing that with me. All our memories of Wellfleet Road are just so wonderful, but the best was at night when the parents were home and out and ALL the kids played together. There was no age difference, just alot of laughter! I'll cherish those memories till I join Gerard in Heaven and can share them again with him, and see that Powers smile! God bless you all!
Love, Theresa Rieder

To the Powers family,
I was a childhood friend of Gerard and learned how to play 'war' from him, but he had to agree to play 'house' with me! He was my first little boyfriend and I will never forget him or the memories of growing up knowing the Powers family of Wellfleet Road. My deepest sympathies to all of you.

Powers Family,
I am so very sorry for your loss.
Gerard and I worked together at ACS. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time.

It has probably been about thirty years since I have seen Gerard but it still hurts so much to hear of his death. I was one of the little kids on the block so there were a lot of people to look up to (and even be afraid of). Gerard was far and away the coolest big kid on the block and in all of East Rockaway. As big, and strong, and cool as he was, there was never anything to fear in him. Before I knew what the word meant, he was a gentleman!
I am amazed at how many Gerard Powers...
