Good bye Gerard, and thanks for everything. David

Loved your writings. RIP. Condolences to your kin.

We've lost a good one. I always enjoyed reading his pieces at American Digest. One of the earlier bloggers who soon became a favorite to many. My sympathy to his loved ones, and to all of us who will miss his wit and style.

My husband, Robie Macauley, a former fiction editor of Playboy, was instrumental in bringing Gerard to Houghton Mifflin in Boston. Their logo was a boy riding a whale. Gerard changed the logo for one of his edited books and the boy was in the whale´s mouth, much to the company´s chagrin. Gerard was charming and full of stories.

You made a difference Gerard and that is the best of the allocates you can get! RIP sir. Thank You for helping make the world a better place.

I was and am a fan of Gerard's blog American Digest. I found it long before I knew about his connection to Paradise, where I and my family lived for many years. I will miss him.

I have no words that can reflect my sense of loss. https://americandigest.org/

Goodbye Gerard, & thanks for everything.

Thanks for the memories Gyro. Vaya con Dios Much love. Joe Wheeler
