Queen of Heaven Cemetery and Mortuary - Rowland Heights Obituary

Gerardo Jose Perez “Gerry”, our brother, Uncle, Godfather and friend, passed away peacefully in his home the morning of August 10th, 2025, following a courageous battle with both liver and lung cancer. He was surrounded by loving family and friends.

He is survived by his 2 brothers, 3 sisters, nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.

In 1984 he graduated from Woodbury University with a major in Business Management and went on to work for the City of Los Angeles accruing over 30 years of service. He took great pride in his work and while most of his peers serviced only one police station, Gerry took it upon himself to handle 2.

Gerry had a deep love for his family and relished any special occasion that allowed him and his family to be together. It was because of this that Gerry treasured Birthdays, Theme Parks, Holidays, and even going to Buffets, as they all represented opportunities to spend time with one another.

In his spare time Gerry loved reading, sports, and video games.

Gerry was known for his intelligence, compassion, and sharp wit. A guiding light to many. Words cannot describe how much he will be missed.

I'm so happy I sang all those Christmas songs to you- even though I kept saying "only for you Tio" as we surrounded you with love. I go back and look at our messages and see nothing but love and compassion. I see the immense love you had for the kids and...
