Not sure what to say?

Recently heard about the donation that was given to PSU. Even though it does not affect me personally, I just want to say thank you for all the contributions you made in your life. You will be missed.

Gerry was the kind of person that made me proud to say that I worked for US Bank and US Bancorp. It was universally true that the graduates of that management training program were solid people. Marilyn, so sorry for your loss.

I was privileged to serve on several boards with Gerry and to have him as a hunting, fishing and golf partner! His personal warmth and humor and love for people and life made every occasion special and memorable ! Also, Jean and I can't help but smile when we think of our special times together with Gerry and Marilyn ! Our best to all of the family !

In 1968, I was fresh off the Work College Scholarship Program with US Bank--six years behind Gerry. He was recently transferred to Metropolitan Branch from Sandy Blvd. and brought the Pounder Realty business with him. He got approval to hire a loan counter asst. and taught me real estate lending. That began a successful career for me. But more important than real estate, Gerry taught me business ethics which guided me always: Stand up for what is right. Honor commitments made by others...

When I first met Gerry, he was teaching a Money and Banking Class for AIB. He was a good teacher, making it interesting and fun. Later on, I worked for him in several positions at the bank and enjoyed his support and mentorship. Thanks for everything, Gerry!

We have shared wonderful memories with Gerry and Marilyn over the years. Gerry's humor was always on point and, as Marvin's banker, he would often say "When I retire, I can finally stop being nice to you"! After his retirement, we continued to spend great times together in Palm Desert and Central Oregon. Gerry was a great banker, and an even better friend. We honor your memory Gerry. Rest in peace dear friend. We send our love and prayers to Marilyn, Sue, Paul and family.

A good friend late in our lives. Gerry was the epitamy of a very successful self made man. Gerrys family can be very proud of him. Paul Schwabe

I had the great pleasure to work with Gerry at US Bank. He was an incredible leader who had great wit and charm. He also started his day very early. Once when we were both at Black Butte Ranch, I told Gerry I was coming back later the next day as I had a 7:30 AM call in the morning. He said he would give me a ride and that we would make it back in plenty of time since we would leave at 4:00 AM. I took him up on the ride and prayed I would not fall asleep in the car with US Bancorp's...

Gerry and Marilyn were our dear friends since the 50's. So many memories and laughs. Bridge stories, Frangelica, times at The Metolius, Black Butte, Palm Valley, PGA West, and Seaside. We spent our weekends together living near each other in our first homes. It is with great sadness that we say good bye to a special friend. Lots of love and hugs to Marilyn, Susan, Paul and family.
