Not sure what to say?

Missing your almond chocolate candies already Gertrud! Alex and I will have to make them soon in your honor...

You were so welcoming to me as I was coming into Alex's life and it was such a blessing to witness charm you always offered. The summer I moved home I lost my grandmother and you helped my memory of her live on. I came to appreciate so much more how Alex and I had the opportunity to share time with you. Thank you for the many unplanned meals that you insisted we have or a...

The service was a beautiful tribute to Mom's life & legacy which is her family & a personal relationship with the Lord.

This time of sharing has been very special. It's very touching to go back & look through the comments
& reflect on all the memories over the years. Greatly appreciate all who've shared.

I praise God for his sovereign presence in my life & the assurance of his peace in the here and now
& after leaving this journey on the earth school....

This woman was one of my greatest supporters. I loved her dearly. She always encouraged me prioritize my education, and to never “rely on a man”. She was a shining example of persistence, responsibility and, most importantly, kindness. She is a large part of the reason I am the way that I am.
I miss you, Nana. Know that when I graduate this spring I will be thinking of you, wishing you were with me, and honoring all of the ways you helped me get to this point.
I love you 8 ❤ forever

The memorial service was beautiful and truly honored Gertrud’s spirit.

It’s so nice to read through some of these comments and see how loved she is!

Today I was thinking about all the lives she has touched. She showed up for a lot of people with the sweetest acts of service.

Happy to think back on my childhood and 20’s with her and all the fun we had together.

Thank you to everyone who payed tribute to her life today. Sending you all love and...

I visited with Randy and Gertrud several times with Evelyn (my sister who married Randy's brother Jim) when they lived near Butler. Their children were very little and adorable with their pretty blue eyes and blond hair. We had many good conversations with a lot of easy laughter. They loved the Lord and it was easy to see that they really loved each other. And, of course, the pastries were so delightful! Gertrud is a special person and will really be missed.

Gertrude was one of the best. A wonderful, kind and loving person. I will miss her. My sympathies to the family.
