Not sure what to say?

I was so sorry to see Aunt Gerts obit on line. Her and Uncle Ben would send "soul food" to the office with Claudia saying "here take this to our other niece". I can't begin to imagine the reunion up there with Claudia, Uncle Ben and Aunt Gert. How joyous!

Gert taught me how to run the KCLS printing press and wrangled me into getting involved with the Union. When she retired I did not think we would survive without her! We did survive, but part of our heart was missing. She was an inspiration and I always smile when I think of her. My sympathy to all those who hold her dear. Phyllis Jager Ficeli

I worked with Gert when I first came to the Kent County Library System in 1970. She was a tireless perfectionist and encouraged those she supervised to the same high expectations. Gert was kind and had a wicked sense of humor. She is one of the good memories I have of my work days. My sympathies to those who knew and loved her.

Condolences to the family of Mrs. Calmese may God be with you in your time of loss. I remember her beautiful smile and kindness so very well when my family and I attended Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church on Ionia.

My Dearest Aunt Gert,
Rest in peace as you are now reunited with Claudia and Uncle Ben...
God Bless,
Much Love Always,

I came to this page looking for a friend's mother and this obituary caught my eye. What an extraordinary person. A purposeful life helping all sentient beings. You were a gift to this world Miss Gert. God Bless.
Respectfully, Brenda Reber
