Gertrude Clark

On behalf of my parents (Joe and Nina Duane), my grandmother (Baka), and the Stiglic family (Tomas and Seka), I would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Clark, Coy, and Duane families on the recent passing of Aunt Gertie.

One of the highlights of my annual visits to Charleston each Christmas was to speak with Aunt Gertie and hear about what new projects or classes she was involved with.

We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

It is with much sadness I mourn my Aunt Gertie, but I rejoice in the long life she had with us. I have so many wonderful memories of spending time with her, Mary and Katherine on Woodland Shores, Beauregard and at the Ashley House. All the trips to the Island and to the Farm and her visits with my Momma up to Raleigh. All the looooooong talks about family and politics and life in general. Her habit of always having a little gift to share, no matter when you dropped in. May she be in Heaven...
