Rochester- GERTRUDE TINKER DAVIS, widow of Beverly H. Davis, Rochester, NH, and recently of Riverside Rest Home, Dover, NH, passed away peacefully there with her family at her side on Sunday, January 28, 2007.

Gertrude was born on October 23, 1911, in Dover, NH, to Harry A. and Mattie Blaisdell Tinker. She grew up in Dover and graduated from Dover High in 1929. She proudly attended UNH for two years, leaving thereafter to work in a Dover bank due to the tough economic times.

On May 20, 1937, she married Beverly H. Davis of Rochester, where she lived for the next 70 years. She had two daughters and was bookkeeper for her husband's plumbing and heating business. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, a former Sunday School teacher, and will be fondly remembered as excellent apple pie maker for the church booth at the Rochester Fair. She was a proud member of several organizations, including the Rebekah's, the Past Noble Grands Assn., the Rochester and Pomona Granges, and the Order of Eastern Star. She was always accessible to her children and grandchildren with her intellectual care and guidance and devoted love. She was a skilled knitter and quilter and leaves a treasure of family heirlooms for her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Brunner and husband Richard of Foxboro, MA, and Phyllis DiPrizio and husband Prisco C. of Rochester, NH; her four grandchildren, Janet DiPrizio and husband Angelo DeSimone of Mirabella, Italy, Peter DiPrizio and wife Susan of Rochester, NH, Gretchen Brunner of Acton, MA, and Susan Uhlhorn and husband Eric of Miama, FL; six great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Charles Tinker and her sister Dorothy Gagner.

Friends and family may call at Edgerly Funeral Home, 86 S. Main Street, Rochester, NH, on Wednesday, January 31, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 1, 2007, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverside Rest Home, 276 County Farm Road, Dover, NH 03820 or to the First United Methodist Church, 34 So. Main Street, Rochester, NH 03867.
