Gertrude Rothbard

My heart goes out to the Rothbard Family. I live in Huntington LI. N.Y. & saw the Death Notice in my local Paper(News Day) From the reading I can only Guess Ms Rothbard was married to The same Norman Rothbard that was my shop teacher at Thomas A Edison HS in Queens N.Y. I never forgot Mr Rothbard. Mr Rothbard left a lasting impression on me,I never forgot him. Mr. Rothbard was a great teacher. I did not know Ms Rothbard, but she must have been a wonderful Wife & Mother.

You have my heartfelt sympathy on Gertie’s passing. We were close friends for many years having met at 41 Wellington in SI. She taught me, Doris and Diana how to play Canasta and the rest was history! She beat us all. We enjoyed a lot of fun times together including trips to NYC to see Broadway shows for which she organized tickets for about 30 of her friends. Gertie was always upbeat and a lot of fun to be with. Gertie was an amazing neighbor and friend at 41 Wellington Court. We had lots of good times at our weekly Canasta and
Mah Jongg games, and Scrabble at the pool. She was so much fun to be with and we will always treasure these memories.
