Not sure what to say?

Gordon & family, I was sorry to get the e-mail notice from John Bahakel about Gertrude. I notified John to call BTC President Johnaca Kelley & he did. The Birmingham News obit was very nicely written. I was at Birmingham Southern NCAA track meet from 8 am to 7 pm. Every time I saw Gordon and Gertrude together, I saw loyalty, dedication & love.

Dear Gordon and family,

So sad to hear of your loss...Charles Thompson told me today.

Since my Mother’s passing I have come to realize much more clearly that the reality of Heaven is just as much a matter of our basic Christian faith as our belief in the existence of God and Christ.

If we say we believe in Christ, we must believe that what He has told us is true about life after death in Heaven for all true believers.

In light of Heaven's actual...

Such a wonderful woman and the sweetest aunt. She quizzed me every time I saw her at reunions (which wasn't often I'm sorry to say) thinking I would confuse her with her sister Ruth. My heart goes out to Gordon and all the Seiferts, but I'm happy that ya'll can gather and tell stories about this darling little lady and the life she lived.

Dear Mary Ann and entire Seifert Family

my deepest sympathy for the loss you must be feeling as you dear strong, kind and caring mother has moved on. I imagine she is dancing with the angels (and helping them sew and cook!)

may all of your hearts be uplifted by god as you grieve the loss of the woman you all so clearly loved...may your good memories of her stay close in your minds and hearts...the henderson family sends our thoughts and prayers....

Dear Gordon and Family
Our love and deepest sympathy to all of you. What cherished memories we have of our precious sister-in-law. When we left two weeks ago, her final words were "I love you and I am praying for you". So typical of Gertrude, demonstrating her love and strong faith to the end. We love you and keeping all of you in our prayers.

Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. May you find God's peace and healing.

Thank you for letting me be a part of your wonderful family. Miss Gertrude will forever be in my heart. I am the blessed one. Thank you again, Fern Chappell

What wonderful memories I have of Gertrude and Gordon, as first chairs of the Social Action Committee at OLS. Complete generosity and compassion for those less fortunate were attributes to admire and immitate. May Gertrude rest in peace in the strong and loving arms of our heavenly Father.
