Gib was a friend since childhood in Wake Forest...we grew up together, his Dad took us to NYC in 1954 (our first trip to NY), we worked together at Yaupon Beach in 1955 in the first restaurant Mr. Barbee built on the ocean. Gib cooked and I waited tables..his Mom cooked blackberry cobbler for us...he was a good friend, to my wife and I through the years, though we didn't see each other often..we kept in touch at Christmas. His and Billie's was always the first card we received each December....
