Gil G. Dankmeyer, 77, of Rhinelander, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021 at Riverview Nursing Home in Tomahawk, Wisconsin.

Gil was born in Shawano County on April 25, 1944 to August and Gwendolyn P. (Moss) Dankmeyer. He was raised in the Shawano area. Gil was united in marriage to Sandra J. Williams in Rhinelander. The couple have been married for over twenty-five years. Gil enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He had been a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Eagle River.

Gil will be dearly missed by his wife; Sandra J. Dankmeyer of Rhinelander, daughters; Tammy, Sandy, Connie, Virginia and Patricia, many grandchildren, two brothers; Glenn (Debbie) Dankmeyer, Wayne Dankmeyer, four sisters; Bonnie Scanlon, Judy (Jack) Gilliland, Jean (Terry) Spencer and Karen. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law; Mike Scanlon.

The visitation for Gil will take place on Friday, June 25, 2021 at the Hildebrand Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. until the 1:00 p.m. Memorial Service with Fr. Chris Kemp officiating.

Immediately following the service, there will be a procession to Northland Memorial Park.
