As you all know I have known Gil all my life, from family functions to spending summers at the cabin. I haven't seen him since my wedding 23? years ago, but I have thought about him lately, since I heard he was sick.

I was one of Gil’s first students when he joined the Chabot College faculty. At that time Chabot was located in San Leandro. Gil was one of the instructors who encouraged me to become a teacher. Thanks to him I spent 32 great years as a business teacher in the Newark School District. I was saddened to hear of the passing of this gentle, kind, and patient man.
