Not sure what to say?

Dear Anderson Family: as we approach the anniversary of Gil's death, I know your feelings must be in turmoil. Over the last year, I have amassed a collection of 43 books primarily focused on biographies and histories of Europe since 1400, but there is an English/Russian dictionary, a guide to world conflicts, a history of Europe divided by professions instead of by monarchs and borders, and Stephen Greenblatt's "The Swerve" which explores how the rediscovery of an ancient poem kicked off...

My deepest condolences to all of the extended Anderson family. Although it was more than 40 years ago, the memory of Gil playing "Lay Lady Lay" on his guitar in his room at 84 Broad Street seems as fresh as yesterday. A fine and gentle soul gone too soon.

I remember so well that sparkle in Gib's eye... It was there back in the 70's when I first met him and was no doubt still there as he waived farewell. May it continue to light the memories of his family, friends and students. Deepest condolences.

Thinking of dear Becky and all of Gib's family and friends in their terrible loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My daughter Hinda had the privilege of having "Mr. Anderson" as a teacher, and I'm so glad she had that opportunity.

Although I never had Mr. Anderson as a teacher, I would always hear how much his students loved his classes and I wish I had had the chance to be his student. I send my dear condolences to Mr. Anderson's family.

Mr. Anderson was a dear teacher to me. As I mentioned in my graduation speech, he taught me so much more than the subject matter. He taught me that with strength and perseverance any struggle can be overcome. Most of all, he believed in me and that gave me the strength to persevere. I will sorely miss him. May he rest in peace now that "agregious obfuscations" have been "asshewed." <3 Much love goes out to his grieving students, friends, and family.

I'm so very sorry for your loss, and trust that evidences of his love, and memories help fill the void.

My thoughts and heart are with your family, Linda

Dear Gil,
Your care for your students and dedication to teaching were truly inspiring. I will never forget the way you taught your final classes through Skype. It was an honor to work with you.
