Obituary

Gilbert "Gib" Ralph Aust passed away on August 30th, 2010 with family at his side. He was born on November 25th, 1916 in Boistfort, WA to Phillip and Anna Aust. He graduated from Boistfort High School and later married Lola Woods on November 20th, 1942 in Ajlune, WA. They made their home and started their family in the Boistfort Valley before moving to Ajlune in 1949. Gilbert dearly loved his wife and family and is known as "Daddy" to all his children. He took great pride in his big family, always welcoming new additions with joy and a big smile. He also loved to hunt elk and deer and spend time at the beach.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lola, son Karl, daughter Melissa, parents Phillip and Anna Aust, and siblings Alice, Lawrence, and Ralph. He is survived by 8 children: Annabelle Hornby, Jenine Broshears, Greg Aust, Gaylen Aust, G. Vaughn Aust, Kurt Aust, Melanie Clowe, and Lisa Galloway, 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother Phil (Mary Ann) Aust.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 4th at the Richland Valley Church of the Brethren in Mossyrock, followed by a potluck gathering at the Mossyrock Grange.
Viewing will be at Newell-Hoerling's Mortuary on Friday from 1-5 p.m. A private interment will be at Swofford Cemetery. The family requests that donations be made to a favorite charity.
