Not sure what to say?

I am so sad to hear this news. Mr. Cordova was my history teacher in high school, and he was my favorite teacher. He was supposed to teach U.S. history, but was always teaching Greek mythology, which was far more interesting. He loved to single out the cheerleaders (which I was) and the football players. There was never a dull moment with him. I struggled a bit my senior year and almost didn´t graduate on time, but Mr. Cordova came to the rescue and even came to my graduation. He called me a...

I didn´t know Gil personally very well, but my husband, Leon Reyes and Gil were good friends at Westminster and I know he has a great man. My condolences to the family. Kathy Reyes

I give my condolences to the family of coach Cordova. I express my gratitude for the fine example he was to me as football coach and teacher. I admired him, and will remember his great influence in my life. He was a wonderful man. With deepest sympathy Dennis Stefanoff

Gil was such a treasure and always brought joy. Since I met him in 1962, always fun.

Coach was the smartest, toughest, best coach we ever played. A true gentleman and great ambassador. Coach Jon Kent Draayer --- Davis High School

Cordova Family, "Don´t let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot"........ a quote from Camelot, a speech he gave us at our State Championship game 1973. Ann and I have many shining moments with him that we will cherish forever. Coach was such a big part of our lives, we will never forget him. To the family, thank you for sharing him with all of us for so many years. Rick and Ann Barber

Gil Cordova was a remarkable man that touched the hearts and minds of many people, as a loving and devoted family man, coach, teacher, and friend. People have commented on how his unique qualities positively impacted their lives. Gil was a very caring and compassionate man to so many. Gil attended the funerals of both my father and mother. I noticed him at the funerals of many past Judge students and their parents as well. His efforts to support people during life´s difficult times reflects...

I'm heartbroken. Gil and I have been good friends our whole lives. We were great pals during high school at Judge Memorial. After years in the Army and many years of higher education, he shared his knowledge as a mentor and teacher. Just think how many children he educated which elevated their lives beyond expectations. At the same time, he devoted himself to his two sons and three grandchildren. He was a lover of music, especially 1940's, as am I. He had a VAST knowledge of history...
