Not sure what to say?

A long belated note to say how much. Gil was liked at ft Lee. Throwing pitches in the barracks. We all left for other assignments leaving Gil at lee. He was a good guy,

So sorry to hear my first cousin Gil had passed, it's been many many years since I have seen him, but I do remember how handsome he was and that great smile, and always very sweet to his little cousins, I too have heard many stories from my sister Lynne, All them crazy Kane's sure loved life. RIP Gil, hope you Lynne , Al and all the rest have one hell of a get together, Wish I could be there, especially for you Judy, but in Myrtle Beach. Love Maureen & Butch Gilligan❤

I only knew Gil a short time from a monthly poker group and all I can say he was a "Classic"! Great stories, jokes and a genuinely nice man. RIP. Deuces!!

So very sorry to see that Gil has passed. Great guy with some great stories . Gil was friends with everybody. Great ball player and person. He lived his life as he wanted and enjoyed it. Prayers to him and his family. May he R.I.P.

I am so sad reading this, Gil was my neighbor and friend and yes he always had a story to tell. I will miss him driving by and tooting or screaming out the window at me. You will be missed around the block.
Rest in Peace My Friend.

To all members of the Downs Family-

Gil will be missed. I am glad I got the chance to visit with him while he was in the hospital during his last days. We first met in the 1950's playing little league baseball in Cohoes. We all know how that turned out for him, and who the better ball player was. (chuckle chuckle). Also, we only lived two blocks from each other growing up and I am proud to say our friendship lasted for more than seven decades. Playing cards, OTB, Saratoga Race Track,...
