Not sure what to say?

I was lucky to get to know Gil late in life in his last years attending the writers group I began hosting in 2019. Fortunately for all who attended he often read excerpts from his book "Outside Looking In" that he had begun revisiting and rewriting certain chapters into short stories. He was an excellent reader and storyteller having written what was a memoir into a novel. All the stories were true stories of his life from early 20th Century growing up in the Bronx into the 21st Century under...

Uncle Gil was an amazing human being. I always turned to him for sound advice & a good laugh. He walked me through many difficulties during my life. He was always there for me & my family.
He & my Aunt Jeanne were the most wonderful couple. They were extremely active & I loved hearing their interesting stories about sailing, archery, handball, travel, education, you name it they knew so much about it. They were surrogate parents to me, always concerned, always caring, always loving. To...

Gil, you were a bright light in our AO discussion group on Sunday mornings via ZOOM. You always had an idea or fact to add to our discussions which enriched it for all of us. You will be remembered and missed.

Amy, I recognized the last name and read about your fascinating and wonderful father. I send my condolences.

Gil, I will miss your hugs and humorous demeanor. You were one of the first people I met to learn and play Pickleball. I hope your grandkids know how much you loved Pickleball and how wickedly good you were. I was so amazed and happy when I saw you on the courts after months of being inside because of the pandemic. What a glorious day that was for me. To think you were still playing at 92! I love you and thank you always for the inspiration to enjoy your elder years to the best of your...

Gil was one of a kind in so many ways. He became a big brother to me when he married my older sister Jeanne, and I became his
"kid sister". He was someone I went to for advice and for information on any subject, since he was an archive of facts and figures that most of us don't have at our fingertips. He had a remarkable memory for detail and was a wonderful teacher to his students, relatives and friends. A minimalist at heart, Gil was abundant in his generosity, especially as he...

Gil was a brother (through marriage) to me. I met him when I was only three years old when he began dating my teenaged sister, Jeanne whom he later married. He was one-of-a-kind...curious, empathic, intellectual yet simple in his lifestyle, and he had many friends who cherished their connection to him. Gil was knowledgeable about so many subjects and always enjoyed verbal volleyball with his friends and relatives. He enjoyed a challenge and never walked away from one. But he strove not to...

Gil was like a father to me during teen years as I was often at his house with my good friend Shelley, his daughter. I’m so glad I was able to attend his 90th birthday party and am the proud owner of one of his handmade ukes. I’ll miss your humor and music Gil.
