Gilbert Gillespie

I am very sorry to hear of Bishop Gillespie's passing. I enjoyed his friendship, kindness and sense of humor over the years. I offer my sympathy to all of you at this difficult time.

I was so sad to read of the passing of Gil. He and Marge were good friends for a lot of years. He even made a Santa one year for my son, Kelly. We were also notified on the birth of the first child in the wee hours. Loved his oriental food, though we only got to enjoy it once. He was a wonderful person and will be missed by many. May he rest in peace.

I so enjoyed getting to know Gil He was extremely bright, had such an amazing positive attitude and wanted to be the best he could be .

Gil and I worked together in a variety of capacities on behalf of several local non-profits. I always found him to be hardworking and dedicated to the cause (whatever it was). So sorry to hear he had dementia. It is a terrible disease which robs us of our loved ones, way too soon. He will be missed.

I met Gil at Dixie College in 1968. He was an RM and I was an 18 year old kid without a clue. It didn't take me long to realize I wanted to be just like him. He became my friend, my mentor, and my hero. Gil has been a tremendous blessing in my life.

He did truly love his ward members as family. Even when he was ill he asked. "Let me know if there is anything I can do for you"

One of the kindest men I have ever known. It was a privilege for me to associate with him and to observe pure selfless service in action. Rest in peace my dear friend.
