Not sure what to say?

Dear Martha, Mark and David,
How fondly we will always remember Dr. and Mrs. Lamarre! Our children, Annie (50) and Maurice (47) were their pupils at Bay Path nursery school and Center School. Dr. and Mrs. Lamarre were among the first teachers Annie and Mo encountered and I like to to think that your parents were role models for our children's subsequent careers in education. Our heartfelt condolences and gratitude . Farida and Jay Pomerantz

Thank you. I would not be where I am in life with out your help.

Gil was a inspiration to everyone that knew him. As a young salesman in the world of educational sales Gil taught me the fundamentals of reading. He was a dear man and truly loved his family! May you be consoled with all of the memories of Gil.

Mr. Lamarre was a very decent, kind and good man. I enjoyed being one of his students and learned so much. He was very good friends with my mom and she had the highest respect for him as a friend and colleague. Rest in Peace

Dr. Lamarre made a significant contribution to my daughter’s career; he graciously offered his time and talent while preparing her for SATs. When one method of learning might not have worked for her, he recognized another that ultimately did. Mary realized her goals to play soccer at the college level, achieve bachelor’s and master’s degrees and teach elementary age children. I’m convinced that she’s shared Dr. Lamarre’s kindness and recognition of children’s learning methods through her...

Gil was a Longmeadow High School legend. He championed literacy for all and student success. His passion and enthusiasm for learning were contagious.
A life well-lived at home and at school.
Rest In Peace, my friend.

It was a pleasure to work with Gil at LHS back in the 1970's. A family man, educator and resource for all classroom teachers - and always with a smile!

Dear Family of Mr. Lamarre,
I have wonderful memories of Mr. Lamarre from High school (Longmeadow High '72). He had to be one of the fastest walkers I'd ever met as he scurried down Burbank Road to LHS...He was incredibly energetic and positive- nothing phased him. He used to make the comment, "Let's consult Mr. Dic (dictionary)" when a new word was introduced. Great man; and a fine educator.

I hope that he imparted his positive energy and zest for learning on each and all...

Gil Lamarre was a teacher who captivated his classes...quick, to the point, humorous. Loved his classes but the classy person he was. Thanks for being such an inspiration. Condolences to the family.
