Gilbert Vern Maxwell

I was shocked and saddened to hear that Gilbert passed away. He was a good friend in high school and really fun to be around with his pranksters sense of humor. When ever french fries were served at school lunch Gilbert would mumble "french fries, french fries" over and over and the rest of us had to protect our plates from his french fry nabbing fingers. After reading about Gilbert I wanted to reach out to the family and tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I have lost loved ones myself and can empatize with how much you need comfort and support at this time. I pray that you have that comfort and support with family and friends. I met Gil back in the mid-80s when we both worked for competing auto parts stores. I never, ever saw him without a smile and he was always friendly. We reconnected several years ago and I got a chance to play some music with him finally.

I never met his family but he always made it clear he loved them very much. He will be missed by a lot of people. Godspeed Gil, rest in peace my friend.

I remember Gilbert was a fun-loving, friendly, crazy classmate and his love for playing the drums. At our 35th high school class reunion, he was the same Gilbert that I knew in high school.

I'm so sorry for the family's loss of his presence in their lives.
