We offer our deepest condolences during this difficult time

Our family sends our deepest sympathies to your family. We always enjoyed talking with Gil and Marilyn at church. They were one of the first to make us feel welcome when we began to attend Trinity. Our children enjoyed having them as their Sunday school teachers. Gil was also a great adult Sunday school teacher. It is certain that Gil heard well done my good and faithful servant when he entered heaven. Keeping Marilyn, Amy, Beth, and Joe, and the whole family in our prayers.

We knew Gil for only a short time, but it didn’t take long to realize that he was “a man after God’s own heart.” He will be greatly missed here in his earthly home, but he has already been well received in the place that God has prepared for him. His delightful character and loyal servanthood represented a rich blessing to his family and friends.

We only met Gil and Marilyn perhaps one time – one handshake, one greeting. But our lives have been so deeply impacted by Gil and Marilyn’s lives – through their son Joe and daughter-in-law Sarah and family. We’ve been blessed by 20+ years of friendship and ministry We have been embraced by God’s love and mercy. How privileged we are to go through this life with friends like them! What a treasure!

Our hearts mourn with Marilyn, Joe, Sarah, and the entire extended McDaniel family...

Gilley was my classmate and longtime friend, as well as his lovely wife, Marilyn Swift McDaniel. Even though we saw each other seldom, he will always remain in our hearts. My love and special thoughts are with you Marilyn and your family and also Jerri and Jeff. Prayers

Marilyn, We are so sorry for the sudden loss of the love of your life. We always enjoyed our fellowship times at Trinity with you both. I miss you & love you, Mel May

Just a brief note of condolence for the family of my distant double cousin (Heflin/McDaniel), my maiden name is HEFLIN. Mostly, I am familiar with your family through L.T. "Terry" McDaniel, who between him and Max L. Heflin, gave me my Indiana genealogic roots and wings. From the description, Cousin Gilly sounds like a wonderful man. As he was three months my elder, his death gives us all "pause" to cherish each day. Please reach out to me should you be interested in 200+ years of our...

Worked with Gil for many years. One of the best men I’ve ever met. Always kind, respectful and honest. He touched lots of people with his kindness. Rest in heaven my friend till we meet again!!
