Not sure what to say?

Saddened to learn this today. He was at the 50th just months prior, he looked good, he was very friendly to everyone, he really stood out in the crowd there. I wish that I had known him better. My old friend Tim Sosinski told me a humorous story at the reunion, about an interaction Gilbert had with Coach Werner at Ward HS. Ask Tim about that is you ever run into him.

Gil was truly a gift. I am grateful to have had 25 years of memories but it was not enough. Gil was the kindest, most generous, positive person. He was put here to make the world a better place and he took that job very seriously. I will forever keep his love and lessons in my heart and hope to carry on even a fraction of the joy he shared. His goal was to make others smile and rarely did he fail. I´ll miss you, friend. Till we meet again rest easy.

I always enjoyed watching Gil pitch and run like crazy at the James Gang softball games. Also loved seeing his Instagram posts in his Chiefs gear. He will be greatly missed

Chip... I will always remember you being 'almost' as goofy as I am!!! You will be so missed buddy...

McNeil Family, I was saddened to hear of Gilbert's passing. I was a fellow Ward Cyclone classmate of Gilbert's. We shared a few memories this past October at the 50th High School reunion. Our third floor lockers were side by side and as a fellow freshman, it seemed like I was an easy target for Gilbert's jokes and pranks. We laughed about those days and I enjoyed hearing of his life since last seeing him at the 20th reunion. He let me know of the some of the hurdles he'd jumped over...

I'll never forget the time I met up with Gil in Mexico City for a Kansas City Chiefs football game and he was the toast of the town in full Chiefs war-paint & headgear all weekend. I'm going to miss the energy he brought.

Matt, the pic is perfect! We will celebrate Chip on Friday! He definitely will be missed! RIP my dear cousin

One of the biggest memories I have of Gil is the huge firework show he would put on for family and friends along with being the grill master! He had a heart of gold and was friends with everyone! You will truly be missed

BEEEEEEE THERE! Love you and miss you, Gil. Rest easy, my friend.
