Gilbert Ruiz

I´m Julia Ruiz. Granddaughter of Gilbert Ruiz. I woke up today thinking of my grandfather and came across this page with such kind words. I thank all of you for everything you have to say. We miss him very much.

Didn’t know mr. Ruiz but as his name was read today on the 20th anniversary , I felt a connection through our last name. May he Rest In Peace. Condolences to his family.

A wonderful young man. He was the big brother to all the kids on the block.(111th St. Madison Ave. and Park Ave. Harlem) He protected us, he listened, guided and consoled us. Never forgotten, always in our hearts. RIP. Prayers for his family.

Hello. My name is Max. I am a 10th grade student in Springdale AR. Today, I pray for GIlbert.

I was watching the memorial ceremony and I heard Mr. Ruiz's name. While I never met him I visited Windows of the World many times and probably our paths crossed at one time. I want to send my condolences to his family. I am also a Ruiz, and it felt like he was a member of my own family when I heard his name. RIP. We will never forget.

To my favorite shop steward at Windows on the World ever Gilbert. You was as tough as nails with a heart of gold. I miss you brother. Juan, Local 100

Although I didn't know Gilbert, I would like to share some words with the Ruiz Family: I do not know if time has healed some of the wounds from your loss. But I do know that Gilbert Ruiz will never be forgotten. Even after 12 years, our United States Family will continue to honor and memorialize those whose lives were lost in this tragedy. Our hearts, our thoughts and our prayers are with the Ruiz Familia - especially on this day, September 11, 2013. (Mike Ruiz, Friendswood, Texas)
