Not sure what to say?

Gil was a teammate of mine for the Portland Lobos and Taylor Electric semi pro Portland City league teams. Outstanding pitcher and a better person. One season he threw 56 innings without walking a hitter! We had a lot of fun playing together and talking baseball which led to coaching careers for both of us. The best to his family during this tough time. Mike Bubalo

Hank, Pete and I are saddened to hear about the passing of your brother. Our condolences to you and your family.

In 1974 while playing for the Vancouver, WA City League baseball team we faced Gil who was pitching for the Portland Lobos. Dude had such a smooth windup and the best slider I ever saw in my years of playing college and professional baseball! I was fortunate to have Gil as the pitching coach during my two years as a catcher at Mt Hood CC during 1975 & 1976 as well as Portland State during 1977 and 1978. I learned a lot from Gil relative to working with pitchers and selectively calling...

So sorry to hear this. I was very fortunate to spend all four years of my college baseball career as a catcher for Mt.Hood CC and then Portland State with Gil being the pitching coach at both schools. Also played for Gil in the Portland City League. Gil would occasionally pitch as well. Dude had one of the best sliders I ever saw in college or the minor leagues. Always enjoyed being in his company! Rod Hudson

I was the incoming JC transfer from LBCC. Me being the catcher allowed me to have some great conversations about opposing hitters and I learned a lot from him. We also had good conversations about life too. I have a great photo of him and me at one of the Old Timers Banquet and he looked the same as he did in...
