Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Dr. Schumann's untimely death and wish to pass on my condolences to the family. I have known him since the 1980s when I was setting up educational programs for Miles Laboratories in Canada. Berry was very healthful and was always an extremely knowledgeable and motivational speaker. In recent years he was always generous with his time and his excellent advice. I will miss him.

My husband, Gary Potter, was Berry's roommate when they were at Elkhart Institute of Technology. I was there, too, and we all attended the same classes for 2 years. Berry was so much fun to be around and I will never forget his "giggle" when he got really tickled. Gary would probably tell you of their diet of sardines and potato sticks to save on expenses. And the house they lived in was a horror to behold but still they had so much fun together.
When Jennifer was very...

My sincerest condolences to Jenny, Aaron, and Jonathan. Your dad was an amazing person. His memory will live on through the many people he taught and inspired. I share your loss.

I was Berry's roommate at Elkhart Institute of Technology in Elkhart, IN. He and I shared many many laughs together and had many discussions about life and our futures. I am so sorry for his family's loss. He was one of a kind. My wife and I will miss him even though the last time we saw him was when he lived in Cincinnati many years ago. We had many good times together.

On behalf of the staff of Medical Laboratory Observer, we extend our sincere sympathies to the family, friends, and colleagues of Dr. Schumann. He was a contributor to our Tips from the clinical experts, and he will be sorely missed.

Berry, I will miss you dearly...you believed in me and I thank you for that. You were a good man and a pathologist that I always respected. I wish the world would have had the chance to see more. Gary, Lauren and I send your family our deepest condolences.

My first memories of Berry are of he and my dad playing with the giant train set in the living room - and then of him treating Jennifer and I to cheerios loaded with spoonfuls of sugar (don't tell mom) for breakfast. Berry was a generous host and a patient teacher. He took Jennifer and I cross country skiing - still my only attempt at it after all of these years - and didn't seem to mind my complete lack of coordination in the snow. I vividly remember trying to catch him - he was...
