Please accept my remembrance of Gilberto on the anniversary of his passing and know that he will never be forgotten.

Still missing and thinking of you, seems like yesterday we were playing in the EO Green school yard or outside lashes house lol so many memories! Just know I miss you and i'll never forget you.

I remember when i first met you in germany at some dance club. You looked at me and said where are you from when i started to laugh and said you know i am from california. Thats when i said i was from oxnard. You told me you were as well. We were both sent to iraq a short time later. I knew people in your company and it got back to me when you were killed. I felt upset even when i didnt get a chance to know you better because not only were we in the same squadron but we were both from oxnard....

Cpl. Meza,
You are missed. It was a pleasure knowing you. As many have said you grew up to be such an amazing young man. Thank you for your dedication to our country. You will never be forgotten. Your smile will always be in my memories.
