I am reminded of those long ago days in Culross Street, Mayfair, London which was then the home of the Hardy family from Cheshire. Who would ever have realised how you would create such splendid things at the Getty Museum in Malibu. Gillian stayed with us at Netherton and took this photo of Francis Watson there. When Francis went to his office in the Rancher (with an awesome bathroom), he wrote to Brinsley Ford that the place was "run like a lunatic girls school," after the Staff did a sendup, "Les Sealed Feet," in the stream running down from the new Villa.
