Not sure what to say?

I have very fond memories of attending many fabulous Chinese banquet dinners at Leo Ping's around a huge round table at the far back with Henry, and 10 or more UofM China scholars, maybe a visiting scholar being honored. Lots of special dishes, lots of Chinese being spoken, lots of blue cigarette smoke, lots of intellectual conversation and a ton of laughter and fun. Henry was a really fine man, he and Leo Ping's will never be forgotten by me. My condolences to the family

I met Henry when I moved to Ann Arbor in 1969. He "lost his lease" when he refused to pay a rent increase. He was then evicted which made him so angry he stripped the building of its copper plumbing.

My condolences to the Lum family. My father Russ Bradley was a friend of Henry's for many, many years. My father wrote the insurance for Henry and probably Leo's restaurant. I also knew Henry through my Dad. Henry used to stop at our house when he was in the neighborhood. Many good memories! He was a good man!

My father was a friend Leo Ping and worked in his restaurant occasionally. I believe that I met Henry for a brief encounter with Mark Hodesh. Sorry to the family for their loss.

I am very sorry for your loss. I remember Henry with great fondness back in the early 70´s. Leo Ping´s was where my boyfriend, Leo, took me for our Friday date nights. Henry´s fried rice was the best that I have ever had. He fussed over us like we were his most important customers even though we were just teenagers. I still have a small porcelain Chinese doll bottle of wine that he gave me. Since he played a role in making our date nights so special, Henry might have enjoyed knowing...

Henry set the standard for delicious Chinese food while running Leo Pings. He was always a gracious host and my family loved eating there.
