Gino Gard, age 87, of Westchester, beloved husband of Ann, nee Rizzo; loving father of Gary (Halina) and the late Gino (Susan) Gard; proud grandfather of Gino (Jen), Glen and Danny; dear brother of Anita Sonja and Nevio (Connie); loving uncle of Gloria, Dorothy, Nevio, and Dan. Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-WestchesterFuneral Home, 10501 W. I am saddened by your loss. I remembered they took me in while venturing far from home because I wanted to be a part of their family and ski on the holiday.

If I may venture to add a note as one who knew Mr. Gard by reputation only, I hope his family will find it appropriate to include a message in the Guest Book that mentions his contributions to the game of soccer in his adopted country. Mr Gard is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame, a winner of national honors during his playing career, and was the reserve goalkeeper for the U.S. national team for the 1950 World Cup in Brazil.
