MADDALENA, GIOVANNI ANTONIO "Tony", 94 of North Providence, passed away peacefully January 28, 2016 at home. He was the beloved husband for 66 years of Ida (Falco) Maddalena. Born in Capriati, A Volturno Caserta, Italy a son of the late Domenico and Maria (DeMarco) Maddalena. Mr. Maddalena worked at the Worcester Textile Co. before retiring. He served during WWII in the Italian Army. Besides his wife he is survived by his beloved children Domenic Maddalena and his wife Judith, Iuna A. Tasca and her husband Carl A. Sr. and Adele Valdivieso and husband Onesimo. Loving grandfather of Carl A. Tasca Jr. and his wife Tania, Carrie A. Marcello and husband Anthony and Christopher Valdivieso. Loving great grandfather of Christopher, Giada, Giordana , Anthony IV and Carl A. III. He is the brother of Annunziata, Anita and the late Amalia, Adelina and Ninuccia. Visitation Saturday from 7:45 a.m to 9:15 a.m, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rocco's Church, Johnston. Entombment will be in St. Ann's Cemetery Mausoleum.
