Mrs. Glaceria Rogers Donnell passed away peacefully October 8, 2010 with her family by her side.
A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at New Goshen United Methodist Church with Dr. Juan P. Gray officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Gla, as she was affectionately known, was the daughter of the late William and Clara B. Rogers. She was born in Lumberton, NC on August 9, 1933. She was a graduate of the J.H. Hayswood High School , Bennett College, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and North Carolina A & T State University. She was a certified Media Specialist in the Guilford County School System until she retired.
Gla was a dedicated member of New Goshen United Methodist Church where she served faithfully on numberous committees. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her children unconditionally. Her fun loving spirit will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory are: daughters, Sheena Jeffries (Harry) and Tonya Felton (Bennie); grandchildren, Charla, Kalia and Benton, all of Greensboro; two sisters, Janice Ratliff of Morven, NC and Marjorie Ingram (Rev. Howard)of Lumberton, NC; brother, Dr. William Rogers of Hampton, VA; brother-in-law, Houston; sisters-in-law, Clarece, Pauline and Amogene; nephews, nieces, and numerous family and fr

Please know that a great many people thought a lot of Mrs. Donnell. I had the pleasure of knowing her when I was a student at Monticello School. She was always so nice to everyone. Right before Monticello was to be closed, I went to the library to ask her about a particular book I enjoyed (I guess I was about 19 yrs.old or so), and she said they were going to trash certain ones, and she was so sweet and gave it to me. I treasure this book to this day (I'm 43) and think of her often. I saw her...

To the family. Mrs. Donnell was a very special lady. I was one of her projectionist at Monticello School she really took me under her wing. She will trully be missed.
