Gladys was a wonderful friend. I knew her from the YMCA exercise class in the therapy pool at Great Bridge/Hickory. I also met her at numerous Veterans Memorials in Chesapeake. I am very impressed by her biography. She was very humble. We will miss her dearly. My deepest sympathy to her family.

Mrs. Carter was a wonderful lady and was very proud of her service to our country. She was quick to recognize that another woman had served and to reach out to them- including myself. She always had a smile on her face and will truly be missed. I am proud to have met her and had time to talk with her about her career.
