Gladys Jones Myers

Mrs. Gladys J. Myers, born on February 2, 1922 to Allen and Alice Jones, was the youngest of six children. After the death of her parents, she was raised by her uncle and aunt, Henry and Emma Daniels, from her early teenage years to adulthood. Gladys accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. She was baptized and later joined Mount Zion Chapel Baptist Church where she served as an usher, and remained a member throughout the course of her life. She worked at Commander Nursing Home for many years before her retirement. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Ernest Myers. The couple was married for 45 years, and they were blessed with six children. In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband and three children, Ernest Lee Myers, William E. Myers and Baby Boy Myers. Those left to cherish her memories are: her children, John W. (Lois) Myers of Savannah Grove, Mary Ann Myers Graham and James A. Myers of Pamplico, SC; many grand and great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
