Gladys R. Patchin

I remember a story Gladys told me about her classmates teasing her and saying "Gladys Ruth lost a tooth" when she was young and in school. She was a half-sister to my grandmother Beatrice, and it is sad to realize that there are no more from that generation any longer.

I have many happy memories of Gladys when she lived in Fairmont and we lived in East Chain. She always added zest to the party. Picking gooseberries at the Doyle farm, visiting Grandma and Gladys on Christmas Eve, etc. I was always impressed with the way she dived into a new life with Russell and his family... the same zest and energy.
