DORRANCE TWP. — Gladys Peters, 89, of Dorrance Township, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Dorrance, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Hazel (Good) Rinehimer. Gladys was a 1943 graduate of Fairview High School and was a member of the Emmanuel UCC Church, Dorrance.

She married Harry W. Peters on May 30, 1947, and together started Peters Bottled Gas in 1950. Following Harry's passing in 1959, she ran the business with family help, until her son took over in 1972.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband was her daughter, Audrey Grosz; her sister, Irene Young; and her nephew, Glen Young.

Surviving are her children, Harry "Butch" Peters and his companion, Carmen Galardi, Dorrance, and Connie Miller and her husband, Tim, Greenwood, Delaware; son-in-law, Tom Grosz, Slocum; grandchildren, Harry Jr., Craig and Chris Peters Sr., Travis and Maegan Grosz; great-grandchildren, Chris Jr. and Kara Peters; nephews, Donald and Carl Peters; and her best friends and companions, "The Golden Girls."

The family extends special thanks to Pastor Penny Dollar, Amy Jensen Kamowski, Megan Conklin and the Celtic Hospice for their friendship, help and support.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in the Emmanuel UCC. Interment will follow in the congregation's cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Blvd. Mountain Top, and again on 9 a.m. to services Saturday at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to the Emmanuel UCC.
