GLADYS E. PONTE Gladys E. Ponte, a resident of the Kerman area for over 50 years passed away June 07, 2003 at the age of 8l. She was born March 5, 1922, in Mexia, TX. Gladys retired in 1987, where she owned and operated Gladys' Beauty Shoppe in Biola for over 30 years. She simultaneously drove a school bus for Central Union High School and was a #I Avon area representative. Married for nearly 30 years, Gladys is survived by her loving husband Joe Ponte, Jr. and her five children: her daughter and son-in-law Gladys & Bill Hamett of San Diego; her daughter Barbara Waltimire; her son and daughter-in-law Ray & Mary Talley of Helena Montana; her daughter and son-in-law Linda Star and Don McCollister of Kerman; her daughter Caroline Ponte of Fresno; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchfldren; surviving brothers; Delmer Sullivan of Taft; Irven Sullivan of Madera; sisters Abby Goets of Riverdale; Leona Skinner of Avenal; Margaret Ghedelli of Fresno; two step-children Bobby Ponte of Bakersfield and Deborah Seaborn of Bakersfield. Gladys was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She was the light of our lives, and many lives. Her love warmed our hearts, Her laughter brightened our lives. Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Wednesday, June 11, 2003, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. and at Saint Patricks Catholic Church in Kerman from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Saint Patricks Catholic Church, 15437 W.
