Not sure what to say?

Mrs. Ruzich was my first grade teacher at Butterfield and I loved her!!! I remember how she helped me learn to read and gave me such confidence in myself. What a wonderful woman. Maxine Saliba Dilliard (Cypress, Texas)

I know Gladys only indirectly through fond stories recounted by her son Steve, who's my brother-in-law (married to my sister Mary Ann). She leaves a wonderful legacy of caring for her community. My thoughts are with all her family and friends.

Mrs Ruzich was the best teacher you could have. She made us want to learn and be a part of the class. I thank her for what I turned out to be. I will never forget her. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

I got to know Gladys and Ernie when she volunteered at the used book sales for the Friends of the library. She was our kids books expert! She was a special lady.

Mrs. Ruzich was our children's first grade teacher in the 1970s at Butterfield School. She was the most amazing teacher they had in their elementary years. I fondly remember those "Billy Goats Gruff" dramatic presentations.
We were very fortunate to have known her.

You were an amazing teacher who taught me to not only read, but the total love of it. Because of the lessons you taught me I have been able to pass that along to my own daughter. Your legacy will continue for many generations. God bless you!
