Gladys Carolyn (Dunlevy) Sorace, 95, of Scottdale, passed peacefully at 6:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, in Independence Health System's Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. "Dumpy," as she was lovingly referred to by family and friends, was born on July 21, 1929, in New Cumberland, Hancock County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Edward M. and Frances A. (Wagner) Dunlevy. She was married for 60 years to Vincent S. 'Vinnie" Sorace, who passed away on May 28, 2012. Dumpy was a professional hairstylist and longtime proprietor of Gladys' Beauty Salon in Scottdale. She was a 1948 graduate of Scottdale High School and of the Uniontown Beauty Academy. Her colorful personality was an attribute, in a loving way, that touched numerous lives throughout her lifetime; a true friend to many! Dumpy will be sadly missed by her family: her daughter, Lynne Kendrish; her son, Vince Sorace and Joe Leos; her sister-in-law, Patricia Dunlevy; her son-in-law's children, Scott Kendrish and Lara Franks and Steve Kendrish and his wife, Mary Ann, and their son, Stephen and Hailey Powell; and her numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends. In addition to her husband and her parents, Dumpy was preceded in death by her brother, Lee Dunlevy (Mary Lou); her brother, Chuck "Wimpy" Dunlevy; her sister, Frances "Sissie" Frank (Morely); her brother-in-law, Larry Sorace (Sylvia); her sisters-in-law, Angie Snyder (Harry), Jeannie Davis (Don), and their parents, Louis and Vincenza Sorace; her niece, DJ Brandee Bowen; her nephew, Dave Dunlevy; and her son-in-law, Bob Kendrish, with whom she ran the Mudslide Open Golf Outing for many years. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Scottdale, with Rev. Father Michael Sikon as celebrant. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale (http://www.fergusonfunerals.com). Memorials may be made to the cause, charity, or church of your choosing. Love Lasts Forever!

Dumpy cut my hair for many years and she had a great personality. Enjoyed my time with her while getting a hair cut! I will pray for comfort for her family at this difficult time.
