GLADYS KATHERINE STRONG

STRONG, Gladys Katherine (Viavant), 89, passed away February 13, 2013 at Munson Hospice House. She was born on November 17, 1923 in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of William and O'Dette (D'Aquin) Viavant. In 1948, she married Curtis T. Strong Jr., who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband, Gladys was preceded in death by her brother, William Joseph Viavant. Surviving is one brother, Thomas D'Aquin Viavant, of Ensenada, Mexico; and her four children, Katherine (Joseph) DeKoning, of Lake Leelanau, Mich., Robert Strong, of Toronto, Ontario, Susan (Gary) Mick, of Burlington, Vt. and Ryk Strong, of Emeryville, Calif.; five grandchildren, Charlotte (Daniel Washburn) DeKoning, BRian Mick, Ethan Mick, Lindsay Mick, Nathaniel Mick; four nephews and their families. No services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held later this year in Lake Leelanau, Mich. Memorials may be made to Munson Hospice and/or to the Leelanau Community Cultural Center (The Old Art Building).
