Not sure what to say?

Just learned of Glee's passing. It is like losing a member of the family. Glee and my mother, Maybelle (Ruby) Bales, were born on what he always maintained was the same day in rural Burdett KS in April 1921. He was always a great friend of the family, as well as our attorney. We were always proud of him as he progressed through the legislature and beyond. He stayed in touch with my mother, especially on her (their) birthdays, until her death in 2013. I live part-time in the farmhouse where...

Shelley &. Tom Jones from Tuscaloosa, AL want to express our sincere condolences; We knew Glee as a Commissioner On Uniform State Laws; Glee was a great person and a true gentleman- He was a great person to work with in governmental affairs and socially as well. He will be greatly missed! Sincerely, Shelley & Tom Jones

Glee will be missed but will remain always in my heart... Loved his stories of how Geri and he met and that he loved her from the moment he saw her!!! Their love and devotion have been inspiring... It was an honor to get to know him.

There will always be an empty seat at First Presbyterian Church where Glee sat beside his beloved Gerry. He was a stately gentleman and a truly gentle man. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

One of the rewards of serving on the Kansas 4-H Foundation was serving along side people like Glee. Leadership, Vision, Wisdom, Caring, Friend - a few words that describe Glee Smith. Dan Bonine

I had the pleasure of meeting Glee when I worked at Barber Emerson in college. He was such a kind person who always had a warm smile to share.

Glee was, as a Regent, responsible, hard-working, effective, tilted just a tad toward KU; he was a good guy and fun to be with.

My condolences to the family. May the God of peace comfort you during this difficult time.
