Sebastopol, California
Was born on October 31, 1947 to Melba and Bernard Lane in Guy, Arkansas. The family moved to Graton California when Glen was three years old. After moving to California his sister Diane was born. Glen was in Army boot camp when his youngest sister Shelley was born and he met her for the first time just before shipping out to Vietnam where he served with his fellow troops on the front line. Upon returning home he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He married Pam Miller of Sebastopol in 1976. Glen and Pam ran a successful trucking business for many years. The cornerstone of the business was the integrity that Glen brought to the trucking industry and his life in general. Glen enjoyed his friends and family as well as his love for his hot rods. He built a 1953 Ford Victoria and 1956 Chevy Bel Air. He and his son Jon built a 1956 Chevy truck, while Jason was perusing his dream in baseball. Melinda during this time was working full time while raising her three boys. Glen is survived by his wife Pam, daughter Melinda Cavendar (Tom), twin sons Jason (Caroline) and Jonathan (Kourtney), Sisters Diane Oliver (Jack) and his baby sister Shelley Herlihy (Ken). Many nieces and nephews who he was very proud to call family. His real pride and joy were his seven grandchildren, Logan, Kennadee, Ally and Reese Lane, Shane Walburn, Nathan and Bryce Cavendar and two great grandchildren, Kyrie and Kaiden Walburn. Over the past several years every decision Glen made in his life was with the grand children and great grandchildren in mind. No longer was it one strand of Christmas lights at the holidays but rather enough lights and other decorations that would make Clark Griswold proud! He will be missed by his friends at the Farm House Coffee Shop And McDonalds where he could be found most mornings. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 18th at Spring Hills Community Church at 3700 Fulton Road, Santa Rosa at 1:30 p.m. with a reception to follow. Arrangements under the direction of PLEASANT HILLS MEMORIAL PARK & MORTUARY. Online condolences may be made at pleasanthillsmemorialpark.com CHEDA & LYONS - Directors 707-823-5042

I only met Glen a few times, but learned quickly what a great guy he was. He and Pam raised two fabulous, successful boys and that is the greatest legacy! We are sending love to the entire family.

What a HERO you were Bub! I will forever love and miss you!
This was in the paper for you:
IMAGINE THE EFFORT it took for trucker, hotrod builder, combat veteran and Graton resident Glen Lane to pull his lumber-loaded big rig safely to a stop and shut it down alongside Highway 37 the other day as his heart was giving out.
Lane managed to get his tractor and 45-foot trailer entirely off the busy highway near Six Flags. Had his firefighter/paramedic son, Jonathan, been on duty...

I read of Glen's passing in Chris Smith's column today. I lost my little brother, David Lumpy Williams, last Oct. He, like Glen, was able to pull over on 101 before he died. The officers at the scene called him a hero...as I am sure they did with Glen. My heart aches for you.
