I am Glen Nygreen's oldest granddaughter, Kristin, and I just wanted to say how much these comments mean to me. 'Grandaddy,' as we called him, played a very active role in our lives and was instrumental in helping us become the socially conscious adults we strive to be today. Every step of the way, he encouraged us to think about how our actions would help others in need. He was patient and kind and always guiding, never judgemental. I was a time of change for Student -Administration relations, and Dean Nygreen measured up in every respect, although one never felt he was anything but a squeaky clean county boy. What a pleasure it was to have worked with Dr. Nygreen back in the 1980's in the office of Student Affairs at Lehman College. He was such an affable person, so understanding of one's day to day activities and a true gentelman and scholar. May his soul rest in peace.

Glen was a warm, wonderful, intelligent friend who will be sorely missed by our family. He was one of the first people who made us feel truly at home at Scarsdale Congregational Church. We will always remember him with very great affection.

I remember Dean Nygreen quite well from a Social Statistics class I took with him over 30 years ago. He made us "math-phobes" feel comfortable with the work, and encouraged me to go to graduate school in Sociology, which I did at Ohio State, where I received my MA in 1981.I will always be grateful for all his positive encouragement.
