Not sure what to say?

Glenda Dickerson's daughter, Anitra, and my daughter, Marjorie, were friends in Junior high school in Setauket, Long Island, New York while Glenda was a theatre arts professor at Stony Brook University. We enjoyed her inspiring university theatre productions, but, most of all, we enjoyed her spirit. She questioned what would bring anyone to suburban Long Island, and she then moved to Harlem. As a person raised in Brooklyn, New York, I think of her question often when I pass the house where...

Professor taught me ife lessons that carry me today. One is the power of self agency and another is keeping your integrity as an artist. I am so blessed to have grown under her tutelage. I miss you Glenda and think of you often

Conquering lioness of lost souls - I will love and miss you forever. Everything you taught me about theatre and life, continues to ring clearly in my head and in my heart - like a sweet lullable song by the most glorious and beautiful angels.

yep professor Dickerson taught us to give our best to this craft and how to be extraordinary artist and human beings with dignity i learned so much from her thank you

Yeah... professor Dickerson was indeed iconic and inspirational in my life. Many good times on stage and lessons learned in the classroom at Spelman College. You will be missed . God bless to the family.

Glenda was my classmate at Howard, and went n to boldly confront the traditional modes of theater with inspiration, skill and passion. Her loss is unbearable. I send sympathy and caring thoughts to her precious daughter and all her family.

Whether it is the Arts, telling the stories of our Ancestors, or strengthening the power of our womanhood, She is so real in my SOUL!!! Professor is an integral part of my Spelman College experience that expects &...

Like many of us, I survived an extremely dysfunctional family. It was only because of a few supremely talented, deeply convicted, big-hearted and exceptional educators, I had the honor and priviledge to have in my life, that I can stand, and stand for something today. They showed me the light until, I was able to not only see it, but I smelled, touched, tasted and finally became that light. My gratitude beaming through my deeds and my life's work. Professor Glenda Dickerson, is one of too few...
