Wise Funeral Home - Bonham Obituary

Funeral Services for Glenda Mulkey, age 90 of Bonham, Texas will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Wise Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham, Texas. Officiating will be Rev. Dretha Burris. Glenda was born July 20, 1926 in Bettes Community, Texas to Ova Earl Carlton and Bessie Mae Cooper Carlton. She passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017.

Glenda was a 1943 graduate of Bonham High School, and a member of the First Methodist Church in Bonham, where she volunteered for several ministries. She was also a member of R.S.V.P. and volunteered with the Ladies Auxiliary in Bonham, serving at one time as President. She participated in a Bridge Club and Needlepoint Club in Garland. She enjoyed fishing and solving crossword puzzles. Her biggest treasure though was her family.

Glenda was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Joe Mulkey in March 2015; parents, and sisters, Betty Carlton Bradford, Veona Carlton Hughes and Joyce Carlton.

Surviving her are; daughter, Debbie Fetzer and husband Mark of Garland, TX; sons, Dale Mulkey and wife Sandy of Rowlett, TX and Jeff Mulkey and wife Dee of Rockwall, TX; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Methodist Children's Home, 1111 Herring Ave., Waco, TX 76708 (254) 753-0181.

The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM, 1 hr prior to service on Wednesday, Apr 19, 2017 at Wise Funeral Home.
